also known as rare earth metals, are a collective name for 17 metallic chemical
elements in Group 3 of the periodic table, including scandium, yttrium, and
lanthanides. China is the world's largest producer and exporter of rare earth
minerals, accounting for 40% of global reserves and approximately 69% of the
world's mined resources.
